Description

Since William the Conqueror built the White Tower in the 1080s, the Tower of London has drawn awe-inspired crowds. Although the Tower of London no longer inspires the fear it once did, it continues to draw those eager to learn about the iconic fortress’s royal, rich yet macabre past.

But there’s more to the Tower of London than torture and turmoil. Learn about the Tower’s ravens, gawk at the gleaming crown jewels and discover the stories of the Tower’s famous inhabitants. Join an expertly guided Beefeater tour or explore at your own pace and leave with a better understanding of London’s hugely interesting yet grisly history.

Following a tour of the Tower or London, settle in for a three-course lunch menu at the luxurious riverside restaurant, Le Pont de la Tour. Boasting fantastic views of the City and Tower Bridge, Le Pont de la Tour serves a combination of traditional and modern French cuisine in a mirror-panelled room that evokes the chic Parisian interiors of the 1930s. The menu is designed by Head Chef Frederick Forster, a chef trained in classic French technique at illustrious restaurants such as The Savoy and three-Michelin starred restaurant Régis et Jacques Marcon near Lyon.

Expect dishes such as a starter of smoked and pickled baby beetroots with goat’s cheese foam to a rich seared fillet of Loch Duart salmon accompanied by pumpkin and parmesan velouté, and linger over a dessert of ginger crème brûlée while gazing over the illuminated Tower of London and Tower Bridge and the twinkling lights of the City skyline beyond.
