Founded in 1759 and declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2003, the 300 acres of land that make up the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, is one of the most naturally beautiful sites in London. Not only is it home to the largest global collection of living plants and diverse plant life, but Kew Gardens also acts as an art space, exhibiting a permanent feature by Marianne North and varying structural exhibits such as The Great Pagoda and the Xstrata Treetop Walkway, a 200m long, 18m high passage through the trees, providing a fresh perspective on the sweet chestnuts, limes and deciduous oaks of Kew.
You can start your tour at Kew Gardens either in the morning or afternoon, depending on your preferences. Known for its commitment to sustainability, the restaurant integrates locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients into its innovative dishes. The kitchen, led by Barny Taylor and head chef Kenneth Culhane, emphasizes natural flavours and traditional techniques, earning it high acclaim and several prestigious awards. The restaurant's interiors feature original woodwork and a bar crafted from reclaimed church pews, enhancing its historical ambiance.
