Description
Established in 2004, Avenue Cookery School is an independent, family-run cookery school, based in Wandsworth, South West London. Offering a vast array of classes for all ages and abilities, this cookery school places its emphasis on fun and family. The Avenue’s team of experienced chefs teach from the heart, rather than a cook book, leading with hands-on explanations and funny stories.
The owner and head chef at Avenue Cookery School is Diana Horsford who infamously taught at the Grange Cookery School in Somerset for seven years, before starting The Avenue. Her demonstrations are full of humour, fun and packed with interesting and relevant information.
Stainless steel surfaces give the kitchen a ‘real feel’ and food is then enjoyed at a big wooden dining table. Potted herbs, glasses of wine and happy banter blend together to create a homely ambience, and guests are encouraged to bring their own drink of choice.
During the bread making course, you will learn the basics of bread making, covering the different types of flours, yeasts and techniques behind kneading and baking so that you can leave a fully capable and confident bread maker. You’ll discover how to make a variety of breads including pitta bread which you will get to taste during the class, and various others to take home.
