Taisteal celebrates its ethos within its name, which is Scots Gaelic for ‘journey’. Chef Gordon Craig has cooked in an array of British kitchens, including the Michelin three-star Waterside Inn. Not content to merely celebrate the best of local ingredients, Craig mixes in a medley of international accents to produce a jet-setting meal.
Until recently, Scotland’s larder was best known for haggis and shortbread. In the last decade, however, Edinburgh in particular has jumped feet first into the culinary scene. Taisteal, the newest addition to that landscape, celebrates its ethos within its name, which is Scots Gaelic for ‘journey’.Chef, Gordon Craig is known for his attention to texture, presentation and flavour in preparing carefully crafted and cleverly devised dishes. During your five-course dinner and drinks pairing, you’ll be welcomed with a drink and shown to your table. Thereafter an evening of global travel awaits. With an eclectic mix of dishes such as celeriac velouté with chorizo, roast rump of lamb with lamb tortellini and dark chocolate cremeux, drinks are carefully selected and paired with each dish to ensure maximum flavour and enjoyment. High quality ingredients sourced and prepared at Michelin-star level is what you can expect from your evening at Taisteal.
