  • Embark on an immersive poetic exploration of London with famous poet, playwright and performer, Inua Ellams

Description

Inua Ellams is a poet, playwright and performer who has given readings and performances at the Royal Festival Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Ronnie Scott’s and the Tate Modern. He was the first ever Poet-in-Residence in Covent Garden, back in 2010, as part of an event to celebrate the building’s 180th anniversary. In 2012, he was commissioned by the Houses of Parliament to crowd-source and write a poem about political representation and engagement.

His immersive approach to creation and his poetry performances have garnered significant demand for his workshops and writing and led to projects with venerable institutions such as the BBC, the British Museum, the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company where he is currently under commission.

Rather than simply viewing and passing, a poetry tour of London with Inua offers a new way of looking at the city, taking it all in from a multi-sensory perspective. In the company of this experienced, published poet, guests will use their five senses to take in the moment, and then craft verse in real-time to create something personal, memorable and lasting. Perfect for those who love creative writing, this experience will appeal to people of all abilities – from those that want to learn more about the construction of poetry to experienced poets themselves.
