Why we love it

The Glasshouse has offered the highest standards in high-end cuisine since its opening in 1999. Despite its numerous awards the restaurant retains its local charm, entertaining a devoted, refined west-London crowd. Even with a coveted Michelin star, The Glasshouse remains the perfect destination for a memorable meal in a comfortable and relaxed setting.

What's Included?

  • Indulge in a three course Michelin-starred dinner for two at The Glasshouse
  • Sample classic dishes such as ‘Breast of poussin with stuffed courgette flower, crushed potatoes and madeira jus'
  • Whet your appetite with a glass of champagne each upon arrival

Description

Serial restaurateur Nigel Platts-Martin and Chef Bruce Poole have collaborated to bring the lucky locals of Kew classical Michelin-starred dining in a relaxed environment. The three-course meal can be selected from an outstanding French inspired menu that acts as a seasonal roll-call of favourite dishes beloved in Britain, combining matching ingredients and big flavours expertly.

The Glasshouse opened in 1999, gaining a Michelin star in 2002 and has maintained an outstanding reputation for food, wine and customer care ever since. Despite an array of prestigious awards over the years, the restaurant has kept hold of their position as a neighbourhood restaurant. While the food befits a more formal setting, the service is welcoming, warm and relaxed.

Rooted in the locale, the restaurant is named after Decimus burton’s world-famous glasshouse structure in nearby Kew Gardens. The natural beauty of the gardens is matched by Head Chef Berwyn Davies’ produce-led approach to haute cuisine. The restaurant boasts an extensive wine list, courtesy of self-confessed oenophile Platts-Martin and Sommelier Milena di Francisco. Like it’s sister restaurants – including double-michelin starred The Square and The Ledbury – the list ranges from cleverly sourced, affordable varieties, right through to a vast cellar of fine and rare wines. Together, they form a wine list featuring well over 200 wines. Fortunately, an expert sommelier will be on hand to offer friendly, approachable guidance on selecting the perfect pairing.

The service team is led by the highly experienced and welcoming Matthew Deller, a true hospitality professional. Matthew and his team take great pride in doing their very utmost to give all guests a memorable dining experience at a local restaurant we all wish was in our neighbourhood.
