Description

Indulge in a scenic tour of the French Riviera. Enjoy luxury stays in Nice and Monaco, Michelin star dining and picturesque drives along the coast and to the Grand Canyon of Europe, by magnificent Bentley Continental GT.

Commonly referred to as the French Riviera, the Côte D’Azur is perhaps the most captivating stretch of the Mediterranean Sea. Take in the incredible beauty of the rolling hills, the impossibly blue sea and the charming islands beyond, by Bentley, with this French Riviera driving break.

One of the most technologically advanced supercars in the world, the Bentley Continental GT is the perfect car with which to explore the region. With 575 PS (567 bhp) and 700 Nm (516 lb ft) of torque, the Continental GT will launch from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 197 mph, the ideal companion for such sublime stretches of road.

Day One

Arrive in Nice, the vibrant jewel of the Côte D’Azur, and check into your five-star hotel. Immerse yourself in this opulent, sun-soaked city. Head to Vieux Nice, the old town, to retrace the city’s history in this atmospheric area. Visit the Musée Matisse, in Nice’s leafy Cimiez neighbourhood, for a fascinating collection of works by Henri Matisse.

The city also offers tremendous views. The Parc du Château, home to a 12th century castle that towers over Nice, provides panoramic views of the city. Meanwhile, the sensational French riviera sunsets are best witnessed from the Promenade des Anglais, created by English colonists in 1822. Tonight, you will enjoy some of the finest French cuisine Nice has to offer, courtesy of the Michelin star tasting menu at one of the city’s top restaurants. Enjoy a gastronomic journey of pleasure with the best-in-season ingredients.

Day Two

This morning, your very own Bentley Continental GT will be delivered to your hotel, ahead of the day’s stunning journey along the coast. Taking La Grande Corniche, described by The Independent as “the world’s most romantic road”, views of the lush, pastoral landscape and, of course, the magnificent blue sea are incomparable.

The road is a masterpiece, designed by Paris’s L’École des Ponts et Chaussées, the world’s first civil engineering school, in order to provide for Napoléon’s ambitious Italian campaign of 1796. Originally clinging to the cliff edges, the road now provides a smooth ride in the most picturesque way imaginable.

The highlight view of La Grande Corniche comes at a section between Eze and Nice, where one can see the jagged clifftops of the Alps in the backdrop, beautiful sweeping views of the Maures Massif and St. Tropez to the west and the stunning seascape ahead.

After this, head towards Marseilles. Along the route, it is possible to stop to see first the home of the famed film festival, Cannes, and then the glamorous playground of St. Tropez itself. Drivers will also come to Hyères, the oldest resort on the Côte, a charming garrison town. Medieval Vieux Hyéres is set on the slopes of Casteou Hill, 5km from the new town and its elegant villas. The home strait from Hyères leads into the inviting glamour of Marseilles.

Day Three

Located in the pulsating, earthy destination of Marseille, you may wish to explore the port city’s charms. Le Panier, dubbed Marseille’s Montmartre for its arty scene and sloping streets, is steeped in history and culture. The Notre Dame Basilica, visible throughout the city from its 162 metre vantage point, is a beautiful marble basilica from which there are superb 360 degree views of the city below.

With your Continental GT still to hand, however, you will be able to explore the gorgeous surroundings at ease on the final day of this French Riviera driving break. Guests may wish to head to the Grand Canyon of Europe, the Gorges du Verdon. The spectacular canyon is surrounded by gorgeous wild nature and the magnificent River Verdon, which gushes towards the canyon where it dramatically plunges 700 metres to the emerald lake below.

The Route des Crêtes serves as a loop of the stunning canyon, following the northern rim of the Gorges du Verdon and producing some of the finest vistas across the valley. At the helm of your Bentley Continental GT, with some of Europe’s most magnificent views, it is the perfect way to cap off this Côte D’Azur driving break.

Reviews

  • Unforgettable Tour

An incredible tour along the Cote D'Azur - this was a trip of a lifetime. Delighted to have treated my husband to a gift like this. The sun, of course, shone throughout and the French 'Grand Canyon' was just unspeakably awe-inspiring. I'll have to check out the real Canyon some time to see if it really can better this.
