Description

Henrietta Lovell, known around the world as 'The Tea-Lady', imports hand-crafted teas from small, independent tea gardens around the world; from China's Fujian mountains to the slopes of Malawi's Mount Thyolo, no stone is left unturned to find the world's most extraordinary limited-production teas. Having designed the tea tasting menu at Claridge's - known as the best afternoon tea in the world - Lovell's tea can now be found in the kitchens of Noma, Mark Hix and Chiltern Firehouse.

Tea has been a British staple for centuries, but since the 1940's the 'cuppas' we commonly drink have come from industrially produced and processed tea leaves. In the 'secret tasting room' at The Rare Tea Company you will enjoy unique teas from “orthodox” production, where leaves are crafted by traditional small-batch process. From stunning examples of well known teas such as Earl Grey and English Peppermint, to incredibly rare Silver Tip Jasmine and Guan Yin Chinese Oolong, even the most seasoned tea enthusiast will have their horizons broadened.

A signature of The Rare Tea Company, your masterclass in world teas will be followed with a unique, seasonal tea based cocktail. This could be a twist on the much loved Hot Toddy in the winter, or a refreshing Jasmine Fizz in the summer months.

Commemorate this exclusive-to-TRULY private tasting session by taking a home a tin of the award-winning 'Lost' Malawi' tea. A single estate tea grown in Malawi's oldest tea estate - Satemwa - Lost Malawi has a depth of flavour and quality which harks back to a bygone era; perfect for sharing with loved ones (or keeping all for yourself).

Add on a Tea Set for two, and take home two 150ml glass teapots, two 150ml glass tea cups, 2 tea strainers, and two additional tins of tea.
