Description

Independent, creative, unique and stylish, Bath is a city of immense culture founded on the city’s famous natural hot springs. It was the Romans love of Bath’s spring, which has been powering 1,170,000 litres of steaming spring water to the surface of Bath for over 10,000 years, which put the city on the Empire’s map.

Located in the heart of the city the Roman Baths were constructed around 70 AD as a grand bathing and socialising complex and is today the best preserved Roman remains in the world. Visit The Great Bath’s magnificent epicentre and walk on the ancient pavements as the Romans did 2,000 years ago on a private tour with a hugely knowledgeable and expert guide from the Roman Bath’s team, and get a unique insight into the Roman Baths and its history.

Measuring less than a quarter of the original site, there is more than the Great Bath than meets the eye. Lying below street level, in the shadow of Bath Abbey, the Baths are first viewed from the Terrace – a Victorian addition for the Baths opening in 1897. Beyond the Great Bath, further chambers to explore include ancient heated rooms, changing rooms, tepid and plunge pools, incredibly well-preserved artefacts, and captivating video and art installations, re-creating the atmosphere, revealing the epic size and showcasing the layout and design of the once stunning Roman Baths.

During your time in Bath, you’ll stay for two nights at Grays Boutique B&B. Grays is a beautiful, family-run boutique hotel overlooking the historic centre of Bath and as such offers a lovely warm welcome, local knowledge and friendly, personal service. A Victorian villa, Grays blends the building’s original character and antique furniture with modern comforts and design. Each of the 12 rooms are individually decorated and designed in eclectic fashion with all the comfort of a small luxury hotel while retaining its intimate, homely feel.

Enjoy breakfast on each morning served in the light-filled, welcoming breakfast room with lovely garden views. Breakfast offers plenty of choice, whether Continental, traditional full English or a combination, all freshly cooked to order using locally sourced ingredients.
