Bedales of Borough and Bedales of Spitalfields are a duo of intimate wine bars and boutiques located in the heart of Borough and Spitalfields Market, respectively, that pride themselves on an open-minded approach to wine. A seasonally-inspired independent wine merchant, Bedales is the perfect place to sample some rare and unique wines - most of which are imported directly and are exclusive to Bedales - with one of the resident wine experts.

Description

Bedales has been sourcing unique wine producers for over 15 years and is committed to sharing the good things in life with their guests. Rather than focusing on the big brands, many of the wines are imported directly from source and are exclusive to Bedales. Eschewing white linen table cloths and taking an honest approach to wine and wine education, Bedales focuses on unique regions and indigenous grapes. The wine library at Bedales features unique wines from the Lebanon, alongside classics from France.

More than a wine bar, Bedales is also home to an in-house charcuterie programme (thanks to head chef Morgwn Preston-Jones), Wine and Spirit Education Trust school for Levels 1 & 2, and is a unique event space for pop-up dinners, private parties and corporate gatherings.

Enjoy a casual and informal tasting at either Bedales of Borough or Bedales or Spitalfields with one of Bedales' decorated wine experts. This is a creative and wholly unique tasting, due to every bottle on Bedales’ shelves having their own story. You will taste wines representative of various countries, styles and colours (sparkling, organic, natural, conventional, skin contact, white, rose, orange, red, & sweet), served alongside a mixed board of charcuterie, made in-house and/or sourced from Borough Market, along with seasonal cheeses sourced from Borough Market.

Bedales are able to host tastings at both locations:

  • Monday to Friday at 3.30pm, 6.30pm and 8.30pm
  • Saturday at 6.30pm and 8.30pm
  • Sunday at 4pm (and 6pm at Spitalfields only)

Please note that Bedales of Borough will be will be closing at the end of April 2018 for refurbishment until end of August 2018.

Please note due to private events and festive bookings both Bedales venues are fully booked on Friday & Saturday evenings throughout October - December 2017.

Please note there is live music event each Monday from 6pm at Spitalfields Market, and each Sunday from 5pm at Borough Market, during those times we don't reccomend bookings.

The tasting will last approximately 90 to 100 minutes.

Service charge is included in the price of this experience.

A standard tasting pour is approximately 75ml to 90ml per wine.

The mixed board menu is subject to seasonal change and availability. For special dietary requirements, the board can feature just cheeses or cured meats. Please state any dietary requirements at the time of booking.

This experience is not available Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year’s Day or Valentine's Day.

Note that at least 24 hours’ notice is required for any cancellations or amendments to bookings.

All bookings are subject to availability. We recommend booking at least two weeks in advance to guarantee the desired date and time.
