Description
The Dysart in Petersham is a great food and drink haven, combined with excellent hospitality and a beautiful setting, it is the perfect setting to enjoy a memorable dining experience. The former arts and crafts building dating back to 1904 has been tastefully restored, keeping many of its original features. The juxtaposition of scrubbed wooden table tops, white linen napkins, pottery commissioned from local potters and sparkling glasses create a relaxed and special ambience. In warmer weather, there is a garden for outside dining and breathtaking views of Richmond Park. Owned and run by the Taylor family, The Dysart certainly has that personal touch and on Thursday to Saturday evenings guests can enjoy live background music while dining.
The restaurant serves contemporary British food, with a wealth of influences gained by head chef Kenneth Culhane, a former Roux Scholar. Kenneth's style is fresh and distinctive, with a classic French technique and Japanese flavours coming through. He uses local and foraged ingredients, combined with unusual herbs and vegetables especially grown for the restaurant. The same ethos is shared behind the bar, with carefully curated products from various suppliers. Each item is there because of its individual character, and chosen to complement the food. Enjoy a genuinely special experience at The Dysart with their six-course tasting menu.
