Description

Enjoy VIP treatment at the Queen’s Gallery in Buckingham Palace. Re-opened by Her Majesty The Queen in May 2002 as part of the Golden Jubilee celebration, the gallery hosts a programme of ever-changing exhibitions of the Royal Collections’ rare works of art, epic sculptures and priceless royal treasures.

On a private, after-hours viewing of the gallery, you and your group will enjoy an expert guide to talk through the exhibitions, including Portrait of the Artist: the first ever exhibit of the Royal Collection to focus on images of artists themselves, including self-portraits by world-renowned painters.

As part of the private viewing you’ll enjoy a 30-minute talk with an expert art historian. They will impart their knowledge of the Royal Collection over a glass of wine in the gallery’s shop; a sociable and relaxing way to end a royal day out in London.

Before your artistic experience at the Palace, enjoy lunch by one of the best British chefs of his generation, Chef Phillip Howard, at his two Michelin starred restaurant, The Square. Howard uses classic British ingredients to produce French-inspired dishes finished with a modern flourish. Over two decades after opening, this iconic London restaurant continues to deliver consistently outstanding food.

The private dining room offers an exclusive opportunity to enjoy this world-class dining experience. As TRULY guests, you’ll also receive a complimentary box of The Square’s chocolate truffles to take away.

Exhibitions

Scottish Artists 1750-1900: From Caledonia to the Continent

The first exhibition devoted to Scottish art collates the paintings, drawings and miniatures of post-Civil War, to present day, monarchies. The exhibition particularly focuses on artists who were affiliate to the Scottish Enlightenment.

Maria Merian’s Butterflies

Tracking the German artist and entomologist Maria Merian on her two year expedition in 1699 to South America’s Suriname, this exhibition showcases her incredibly detailed works on the animals and plants she encountered and tells her story through works collected by George III.

Portrait of the Artist

Discover self-portraits and representations by friends, relatives and pupils of some of the world’s most famous artists. Spanning six centuries (15th to the 21st century), this exhibition examines the cultist status of the artist and their changing status’s in society. Over 150 paintings, drawings, prints, photographs and decorative arts make up the collection, including the most reliable surviving likeness of Leonardo da Vinci.
