“Bringing a taste of island life to London” London on the Inside

Why we love it

Hailed as the best beach bar in London by the Evening Standard, The Beachcomber is the capital’s only self-styled ‘Tik-easy’ bar. Hidden beneath the eclectic streets of Bayswater, the subterranean tropical paradise stocks over 150 varieties of rum, and is the London specialist in one of the world’s rarest styles; French-Caribbean rhum agricole.

What's Included?

  • Enjoy a private premium and rare rhum agricole tasting for two people at The Beachcomber
  • Savour a signature rum cocktail each on arrival
  • Followed by a Ti’ Punch-making masterclass and an in-depth introduction to the world of rhum agricole, lasting approximately 15 minutes
  • Taste four 25ml servings of premium and rare rums each, as part of a flight tasting
  • Served alongside a creole platter, featuring four to six creole snacks to share

Exclusive to TRULY

  • This experience is unique TRULY guests

Description

Tiki is all about over the top fun, and The Beachcomber brings that spirit to the eclectic cosmopolis of Bayswater. But behind the Polynesian paraphernalia is a bar with genuine cocktail mastery, incredible Creole cuisine and unrivalled expertise in its specialist trade, rhum agricole – one of the rarest rums in the world.

Voted the best London beach bar by the Evening Standard, The Beachcomber is the rhum agricole specialist bar in London with over 150 different types of rums behind the bar, with French-Caribbean rhum agricole taking centre stage.

Get your first taste of The Beachcomber’s high-quality rhum agricole with a signature rum cocktail each on arrival, such as the ‘Missionary Downfall’ (JM Rhum, briottet peche, mint, honey, pineapple and lime). Once in the tiki spirit, learn how to make, and of course drink, a traditional Caribbean Ti’ Punch in an interactive masterclass.

Sipping a Ti’ Punch at the bar, take a detailed look into the world of rhum agricole in an introduction to the spirit with The Beachcomber’s rhum agricole experts, and taste four premium and rare rhum agricoles as part of a tasting flight.

While rhum agricole is the highlight of the experience, the food at The Beachcomber is not to be overlooked. Guadeloupe-born food writer and author of Creole Kitchen, Vanessa Bolosier serves up a host of delectable Creole snacks on a French-Caribbean-inspired menu. Enjoy an assortment of Creole delicacies such as some very addictive saltfish fritters, moreish plantain crisps and aubergine patties that are packed full of flavour.

    Rum tasting

Ash was brilliant, very knowledgeable and very accommodating. She definitely knew her stuff. The experience was great, if a touch overpriced for what it was but still good none the less.
