During this period, he has worked everywhere from France to South Africa and belongs to the Circle of Wine Writers and serves as a judge for the International Wine Challenge, one of the UK’s premier wine competitions. During the private 90-minute masterclass, learn about topics ranging Old World vs New World styles, the major grape varieties (illustrated by fine wines from around the world), why some wines cost more than others, and how to tell the difference, wine and food matching – finishing with blind tastings to test your new knowledge. Gilbert will present wines at intervals, enjoying six premium and fine wines over the course of the masterclass, each paired with a cheese that enhances its distinctive profile.
