Description

Opened in 2014 inside a period mansion, Kouzu is an exciting high-end Japanese restaurant in heart of Belgravia, across from the famous Goring Hotel. A Japanese native, Kouzu founder Kyoichi Kai worked for ten years in his home country before moving to London in 1988. He has since worked at restaurants including Zuma, and most recently was head chef of The Arts Club in Dover Street.

Head Chef Kai heads up the kitchen alongside finely selected all-Japanese staff members hailing from some of London’s best Japanese restaurants including Nobu and Hakkasan. Kouzu is also home to the UK winner of the ‘Global Sushi Challenge’ 2015, Chef Jia Tian Xia.

Fresh and flavoursome, Chef Kai’s traditional Japanese food is beautifully presented using the finest ingredients from Japan and the UK. As part of this four-course menu, TRULY guests will be presented with perfect plates of “new stream” sushi and sashimi, such as delectable slithers of sliced yellowtail marinated in a yuzu soy dressing, and an array of Asian-inspired classics, such as teriyaki dishes, tempura and miso soup.

To accompany your meal, guests will enjoy Shirakabegura Mio sparkling saké koube. With its unique, sweet aroma and refreshing, fruity flavour, this new age sake is crafted in the traditional brewing style, with rice, water and koji and its inclusion makes for a truly modern Japanese experience. To finish, savour complimentary tea and petit fours, exclusive to TRULY guests.

Reviews

  • Very nice restaurant

A lovely restaurant and gorgeous food. Only thing is we didn't get the complimentary tea and petit fours which was the little extra difference of booking through truly concierge. No different than booking the restaurant myself

The Kouzo Restaurant, an experience to remember!

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was great and the staff were very helpful. The restaurant had a lovely welcoming atmosphere and we will definitely be returning.
