Working with architects, interior designers and businesses alike, her most recent book, Terrariums & Kokedama, is already a top-seller.

Description
After seeing terrariums in San Francisco, Alyson Mowat started creating bottle gardens. Experimenting with other glass vessels, she was inspired to cut glass and solder together her own terrariums, which inevitably lead her to launch Botanique Boutique, her luxury terrarium company.
Terrariums proved enough of a motivation to convince Mowat to give up her day job: “I found myself spending the majority of my time behind a computer screen and when I started working with plants, I noticed it had a transformative effect on my life.”
With contemporary terrariums a fixture of the aspirational, design-led indoor gardening that seems to be bang on trend right now, it seems there is a new influx of greenfingers in our society! Terrarium owners are finding new delights in seeing their glassed-in gardens develop – celebrating the growth of plants in a different and intriguing space.
During one of Mowat’s group workshops, you will learn to design, plant and sustain your own garden-in-a-jar. As well as being given all the materials and plants you need to create your own bottled garden, you’ll learn how to make the tools to work with difficult bottle shapes and how to choose plants which thrive in their own biosphere.
