Sit in a Spitfire Experience

Step back in time and enter the world of British aviation heritage at the Spitfire Company Biggin Hill. On arrival, guests are welcomed by an expert guide and join a small group of just six participants, ensuring an intimate and unrushed encounter.

The experience begins with insight into the Spitfire’s history, design, and wartime construction, setting the scene for what follows. Guests then climb into the cockpit of a genuine Supermarine Spitfire, usually Mk XVI TE356, and spend around 10 minutes fully immersed in the pilot’s environment.

During this time, the guide explains the flying controls, the six primary flight instruments, engine gauges, and the systems controlling propeller, fuel, and magnetos. Guests place their hands on the iconic central spade grip and their feet on the rudder pedals, gaining a powerful sense of what it meant to fly this legendary aircraft.

Photographs are encouraged, with the guide happy to capture images inside the cockpit and in front of the aircraft. The experience concludes with a 30-minute guided tour of the restoration facility, offering close-up views of ongoing projects and other Second World War aircraft.
