Cotes du Rhone, one of the oldest and largest wine-producing regions on the planet, is best known for its red Grenache and, to the wine enthusiasts, its lesser-known but delightful Grenache Blanc white wine.
Your host for the evening is industry expert Gilbert Winfield. Gilbert has over 20 years experience in wine, having worked in prominent wine regions from France to South Africa, and is a qualified WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) tutor. His expertise has led him to be become a member of the Circle of Wine Writers, serve as a judge for the International Wine Challenge, and have several TV appearances, including being Sky News' wine expert. Despite his impressive and lengthy list of accolades, Gilbert maintains a relaxed and approachable manner towards sharing his knowledge of wine and his laid back, humorous approach is a breath of fresh air in the industry.
The tasting takes place at the Cork & Bottle Wine Bar. A cosy, contemporary wine bar with traditional values towards wine, it welcomes all wine lovers around the world. During the session sample eight fine Cote du Rhone wines and discover how this extremely food friendly wine variety pairs with soft and hard cheeses, as well as charcuterie.
