Situated in the heart of Mayfair, Benares, named after India’s holy city, serves modern Indian cuisine with a contemporary British twist. The chef presents an innovative menu that takes dishes from all over India, made with quality British ingredients, and creating a new take on Indian Cuisine.
Since opening in 2003 Benares has seen tremendous success. This culinary experience provides the perfect opportunity to sample some phenomenal food from the restaurant’s chef’s table menu, as well as a champagne cocktail.
The sophisticated space is luxurious, contemporary, but completely unpretentious. Hand-crafted furniture, water features, and a rich exotic interior transport the beauty and vibrancy of India to Mayfair. At the intimate Chef's Table, your group will have a unique opportunity to observe the workings of the kitchen.
Discover the full range of Indian and British flavours as you indulge in the seven-course tasting menu. Sample delicious dishes such as 'Cornish Crab Croquette, Tomato and Coconut Chutney' and 'Pan Seared Scallops, Broccoli Couscous, Cauliflower Puree'. Round off your meal with sweet treats such as 'Passion Fruit Suji Cake' and 'Pomegranate Bhapa Doi'; a delicious steamed yoghurt dessert served with rhubarb jelly.

The Chef's Table at Benares is available for lunch Monday to Sunday, 12pm to 1:15pm, for dinner Monday to Saturday, 6pm to 9:30pm (8:30pm last order) and Sunday, 6pm to 8:30pm.
Only the Festive Menu is available throughout the festive month of December.
Please note menu's require a supplementary fee if booked during the festive period.
Service charge is not included and is left to the guests' discretion on the day.
The value of your certificate has already been included, therefore you'd be only required to pay for service charge and extras on the day.
The menu is subject to seasonal change and availability. Please state any dietary requirements at the time of booking. Gluten-Free, Lactose-Free, Vegetarian diets can be accommodated.
There is disabled access to the restaurant.
The minimum age of guest for this experience is 18 years. For diners under this age, a complimentary non-alcoholic beverage will be provided in place of a Champagne cocktail on arrival.
