Description
Get ready for the ride of your life on this motorcycle tour through the heart of Malaysia. Begin in Kuala Lumpur, at the inviting sanctuary of Villa Samadhi. Taking its name from the Sanskrit word for the highest state of mediation, The Samadhi Retreats offer an enriching experience. This boutique hotel is a luxurious escape from the hustle and bustle of Malaysia’s capital embassy district, and the Thai-styled retreat boasts lantern-lit pathways, a rooftop bar and curvaceous lagoon pool.
After a relaxing night, journey northward by bike to the enchanting island of Penang, best known for its UNESCO World Heritage Site George Town, a city bustling with life, history and culture. On the way, discover the vacuous and religiously significant Perak caves, the old town of Ipoh and drive over Malaysia’s longest bridge, the Penang Bridge.
Rest up in the indigo palace, the Blue Mansion, and explore all Penang has to offer. Take in Asia’s best street food in George Town, explore the city's rich tapestry history, or head to the hills where you'll find an abundance of fruit farms.
Heading east on your motorbikes, discover the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lenggong Valley, a Paleolithic, Neolithic and Metal Age discovery site where the remains of the of the Stone Age Perak Man were found; the oldest human skeleton found in Peninsular Malaysia. Venturing deeper into the northern territories, enter the Belum rainforest and spot Malaysian sun bears, gibbons, tigers and elephants in their natural habitat.
The journey will continue along the incredibly scenic East-West highway, coming to untouched coastal village of Mersing – where traditional wooden homes float on tiny bridges and fresh seafood is a staple. You'll then cross the emerald South China Sea to the paradise island of Tioman. Relax in your stay at the Japamala Retreat, voted 2012 Traveller's Choice Awards in Top 25 Hotels in Malaysia. Enjoy deserted beaches, colourful coral reefs and lush rainforest.
A short trip south takes you to the Lion city of Singapore. Hidden among the trees of Singapore’s Labrador Nature Reserve, the refurbished colonial residence of Villa Samadhi is a haven of peace and tranquillity. After two nights in the absolute luxury of Villa Samadhi, the road heads North West to the historic UNESCO World Heritage city of Malacca - a town with strong Portuguese, Dutch and English influence – and through the royal town of Sri Menanti.
