Description

Since the age of eight, Nathan Outlaw has been honing his culinary talents. Over the years that followed Nathan went from buttering toast at his dad’s busy breakfast services, to working alongside cooking heavyweights Gary Rhodes, John Campbell, Eric Chavot and Rick Stein.

Known for his appearances on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen and Great British Menu, Nathan is the UK’s most renowned seafood chef, winning the prestigious ‘Chef’s Chef of the Year’ at the AA Hospitality Awards for 2014-15.

Restaurant Nathan Outlaw in Port Isaac is Nathan’s flagship restaurant and the most iconic seafood eatery in Britain. The restaurant received two Michelin stars within a year of opening - the only UK seafood specialist that can lay claim to that achievement. It ranks third among the ‘Top 50 Restaurants in the UK’ and holds an outstanding 9/10 score in the Good Food Guide.

The location is no coincidence. Port Isaac is a haven for some of the best crab and lobsters in the country. Restaurant Nathan Outlaw sources seafood daily, and as locally as possible by way of small, independent fishing boats off the Cornwall coast. This emphasis on seasonality and sustainability is reflected in all eight-courses of the tasting menu. You will sample hand-dived scallops, Porthilly oysters and Cornish crab.

A short drive along the coast from Port Isaac is the beautiful village of Rock, which boasts sweeping views across the Camel Estuary to Padstow. The picture-postcard location is home to the St. Enodoc Hotel; a boutique property widely considered the best in the area, which coincidentally, was also home to the previous incarnation of Restaurant Nathan Outlaw.

Holding a Four-Star Silver Award from Quality in Tourism, St Enodoc Hotel has been voted in the Sunday Times Ultimate 100 British Hotels, which hailed it for being "contemporary, comfortable, colourful, unpretentious and well suited to its happy-go-lucky seaside setting". Staying for two nights, this is the perfect base to explore your stunning coastal surroundings. Enjoy full use of the spa and take in unbeatable morning views over breakfast.
