Description

Built for Prince William Henry, Duke of Clarence, between 1825 and 1827, to the designs of John Nash, Clarence House is the last of London’s great aristocratic townhouses to be maintained in the manner of which it was built.

Start your afternoon with a Champagne tea at the classically fashionable Rosebery Lounge. Opening out onto Hyde Park, the Rosebery Lounge at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park was created as a luxurious space for well-heeled shoppers to relax, away from the crowds of Knightsbridge.

Create a sense of occasion with a glass of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Champagne each before choosing tea from an extensive selection of some of the finest teas from around the world. The dedicated Tea Master, who works with the East India Company, has created a menu of bespoke blends only available in the Rosebery Lounge. To complement your choice of teas, enjoy a selection of perfectly matched delicacies, hung over the table on a beautiful silver ‘branch’. Set against a stylish, contemporary backdrop, expect treats such as saffron-spiced panna cotta, milk chocolate and passion fruit tarts, and sweet classics of traditional scones, made expertly by the experienced pastry chefs.

After taking afternoon tea, you will gain exclusive access to Clarence House. Once home to HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, it is now the official residence of TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. This private late-afternoon tour begins in the gardens where you'll find the formal planting added in 2004-2005 by the Prince of Wales in memory of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

With an expert guide, your group will go behind-the-ropes of Clarence House and explore the regal rooms on the ground floor where official engagements by Their Royal Highnesses take place. The exclusive tour also incorporates a viewing of the, normally off-limits, Cornwall Room, where 22 of The Prince of Wales’s beautiful watercolours, painted between 1998 and 2006, are hung. Upon conclusion of your tour, you’ll be gifted a commemorative guidebook to enjoy the memories of you day.
