Description
Located in the old Bank of New Zealand building, The Trading House in Bank is a hidden gem tucked away in one of the city's oldest distracts on the east end of Gresham Street. Set in a striking limestone exterior, the interiors will take you back in time to the Victorian era with lavish décor and opulent features. Inspired by the East India Trading Company, the Trading House is an eclectic mix of colonial class and city chic. High ceilings, taxidermy curios and ornate chandeliers hanging from decorative ceilings give the bar a distinct backdrop and the perfect place to sample Britain's favourite tipple. The dark wood panelling, a spiral staircase, plush décor and live music all add to the sophisticated, yet relaxed and lively atmosphere.
With an impressive cocktail list, gin menu with paired tonics and garnishes, expertly trained mixologists, a range of craft beers, ales and ciders, as well as their own bespoke brews, The Trading House is the perfect place for a drink. Inspired by the deli, rotisserie and BBQ, the food menu has an emphasis on freshly cooked pub food, done simply and well. The Trading House's late-night license means there's no need to rush the evening, relax over drinks, enjoy a meal and the option to dance the night away.
Enjoy a gin masterclass at this atmospheric Victorian-themed bar and discover the origins and history of Britain's favourite tipple. Sample a range of hand-selected gins as you learn to identify the unique flavours. The perfect experience for gin enthusiasts.
