The Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official Scottish residence of His Majesty The King, stands at the end of Edinburgh's Royal Mile against the backdrop of Arthur's Seat. This fine baroque palace is closely associated with Scotland's rich history and is the country's only working palace. Discover the ancient menagerie, 14 magnificent historic State Apartments and the romantic ruins of the 12th century Holyrood Abbey, as well as the Palace gardens where the King hosts his annual Garden Party.
After leaving Holyroodhouse, head to Restaurant Martin Wishart to enjoy a six-course tasting menu. Set on the banks of the dockside, Restaurant Martin Wishart is one of Britain's most celebrated restaurants, twice being named "Scottish Restaurant of the Year" by The Good Food Guide.
The restaurant also has four AA rosettes to its name and has retained its Michelin star every year since being awarded the accolade in 2001. Martin himself is a highly decorated chef and respected by many for his contributions to Scottish fine dining. Earlier in his career he worked with chefs including Marco Pierre White, Nick Nairn and Albert Roux. You'll be welcomed with a glass of Gosset Brut Excellence Champagne, before enjoying Chef Wishart's French-inspired dishes, made from locally-sourced, sustainable Scottish ingredients.

Suggested Itinerary:
- Book Lunch for 1.30pm, then make your way to Holyrood Park to explore its beauty and visit the Palace of Holyroodhouse at 6pm, or 6.30pm. or
- Visit the Palace of Holyroodhouse at 10am, and book lunch at 12:30pm or 1pm
Palace of Holyroodhouse Opening Times:
- daily April to October, 9.30am to 4.30pm and November to March, 9:30am to 3:15pm.
Restaurant Martin Wishart Opening Times:
- Wednesday to Saturday, 12pm to 12pm to 1.30pm and from 6:30pm to 10pm
Allow 40 minutes for travel between venues on foot or 20 minutes by bus 35 from Abbeyhill Crescent to The Shore bus stop.
Other Useful Details:
This experience is not available on bank holidays and other special occasion days such as Valentine’s Day.
Lunch at Restaurant Martin Wishart is inclusive of the six-course tasting menu and a glass of champagne for each person. Further beverages and any other extras are not included, and can simply be paid for on-site.
Service charge is not included in the meal; this left to the guests’ discretion on the day.
