As far back as the 19th century, the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace has been responsible for every aspect of the monarchy’s public travel. From day-to-day excursions to more important affairs such as state and ceremonial occasions, the monarchy’s royal fleet is an integral part of it all.

 During your hour-long multimedia tour you'll pay a visit to the royal stables, home to an important bloodline of horses responsible for pulling the royal carriages. Learn about the two types of horses at the mews, the Windsor Grey and the Cleveland Bay, and discover why these two breeds have been chosen to serve the royal family since the 19th century.Glistening in all their regal glory, catch a glimpse of the Royal Family’s collection of coaches and carriages.

 Following your gallery tour, indulge in an elegant afternoon tea at the 5-Star Rubens at the Palace.

Indulge in the epitome of a quintessential English Afternoon Tea experience at The Rubens at the Palace, where refinement meets tradition. Seating arrangements are thoughtfully assigned to ensure the best accommodation of reservation times and the smooth flow of service. The Royal Mews is open Monday, and Thursday to Sunday from 2nd March to 30th October

Afternoon tea is served Monday to Sunday, from 12pm to 5pm.
