Union Coffee is well-known for its rich flavour and fresh beans. But as a roaster, they were typically one step removed from the final stage on the coffee journey - turning freshly roasted beans into a delicious cup of coffee. As a result, they wanted to close the gap to establish a ground level presence. Partnering with Brew Lab in September 2012, it was evident that the two businesses were kindred spirits. Both committed to craft, meticulous standards and a thirst for knowledge and growth, the union was nothing short of serendipitous. Rotating two single origin espressos and an ever-changing roster of filter coffees, Brew Lab’s attention to detail for every cup earned it the “Lab” moniker. Its stylish interior and historic location have made it a local favourite as well as a must-stop for visitors to Edinburgh. The professional baristas are there to share their knowledge, in the hope to bring together a growing community of coffee enthusiasts.During your Brewing Masterclass, you’ll spend two hours learning how to brew fantastic coffee at home. You’ll discover how to set up brew recipes for individual coffees, how to detect if something isn’t quite right with your brew, and what you’ll need to change to fix it. You’ll explore three different brewing methods - Clever Dripper, Aeropress and Kalita Wave - to cover the fundamental principles of coffee brewing. Professional guidance will be given to uncover top tips, tricks and useful advice for getting consistently great results no matter what coffee you’re brewing or how you’re brewing it.
