Known for its prestigious vineyards, including Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, the area has been declared a World Heritage Site. Rich in architectural and natural heritage, the surroundings are idyllic, shaped by the men who lived there for centuries.
Explore the region with an enchanting hot-air balloon flight. From above, discover the meticulously aligned vines and dream of the grand cru you will taste in one of our local wineries after having seen the grapes there were made from.
L'Abbaye de la Bussière houses two restaurants: The 1131, a gourmet Michelin star restaurant nestled under majestic vaults and The Bistrot des Moines, located in the old kitchen of the monks. During your stay, you’ll be invited to dine on an eight-course dinner, prepared by Chef Guillaume Royer, a fervent believer of fresh, local produce.
For your two-night stay, you’ll take refuge in a Junior Suite, overlooking tranquil gardens and surrounded by nature. You’ll also enjoy breakfast served daily and have the opportunity to borrow bikes to explore the nearby canal or cosy up in the lounge areas beside a log fire. To ensure your relaxation is at its optimum, airport transfers will be arranged for you.
Suggested Itinerary:
- Day one: Arrival and check-in to the hotel followed by an eight-course dinner at Gastronomic Restaurant Le 1131
- Day two: Hot Air Balloon ride of the vineyards of Burgundy
- Day three: Check-out and departure home

Bookings are subject to availability. We advise booking at least 3 months in advance to guarantee the desired dates.
This experience is not available on bank holidays and other special occasion days such as Valentine’s Day.
Depending on the season, the meeting-time for the balloon ride is between 6 and 8am and 5 and 7pm.
Please note that flights are dependent on weather conditions.
The best season for ballooning is between April and October.
