Glenapp Castle is a stunning venue nestled in the Scottish woods and overlooking the Irish Sea. Restored and redesigned as a luxury five-star hotel, the castle has been a member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux Association since 2001. The former home of Scottish nobility including the Earl of Inchcape, each guest room is individually decorated and furnished with antiques and fine oil paintings. Set on the Ayrshire coastline, the grounds provide spectacular views of the Isle of Arran and Ailsa Craig.
The restaurant at Glenapp is itself a reason to visit and holds 3 AA Rosettes. The Glenapp dining rooms showcase the impressive Scottish larder and feature fresh and local Ayrshire produce.
Heading out to the castle grounds one evening, just outside Galloway Forest Park, you will be joined by a Dark Sky ranger for an unforgettable, guided stargazing experience. There are only three accredited Dark Sky Parks in Europe, and Galloway provides one of the best spots in the UK for stargazing. This memorable break is the perfect way to celebrate an important birthday or anniversary, or really, what better place is there to ask a very important question than under a clear, starlit night sky?

Glenapp Castle is open from late March until mid-December.
Cancellations must be made 14 days in advance.
Stargazing is subject to weather conditions. Your evening stargazing may be swapped due to the weather to give you the best opportunity for Stargazing. However, if both nights are cloudy, the Dark Sky ranger will host a private lecture on stargazing in the library.
All bookings are subject to availability. We advise booking at least 4 weeks in advance to guarantee the desired date and time.
