Branded "certainly Ireland's grandest hotel" and listed amongst the "100 Best Hotels and Resorts" by International Traveller Magazine, Ballyfin is a destination of history and romance, the perfect setting for this Ireland romantic country break.
Ballyfin is the most regal estate in Ireland boasting 600 acres of stunning parkland and enchanting woodland open to discover. With delightful follies, grottoes and garden structures, Ireland’s most opulent estate has its 5-star hotel at its heart.
Built in 1822, the former home of British Baronet Sir Charles Coote, Ballyfin is fabled for its man-made masterpieces, including the medieval-style folly and Edwardian rock garden. Following an eight-year restoration, Ballyfin finally reopened its majestic doors in May 2011 and due to its natural surroundings and wonderful features, it has been attracting guests of leisure and outdoor activity alike.
The hotel itself contains only 15 rooms, providing discretion and privacy like few other destinations. Your room for two nights on this Ireland romantic country break, the magnificent Wellesley-Pole suite, is one of Ballyfin's most striking and luxurious; spanning a large bedroom and elegantly appointed sitting room. Situated in the centre of the garden front, the views lead out into the sheltered slopes of the Pleasure Grounds, looking directly towards the sensational Cascade.

Winner of Hotel Restaurant of the Year 2013 at Andrew Harper’s Grand Awards, the historic State dining room will host your dinner for both evenings of your stay, preceded by a drinks reception in the 80 foot long, grand library. Ballyfin’s menu is decorated with an abundance of hand-reared and conscientiously sourced ingredients, always following their strict mantra; ‘local, natural and seasonal’. The beef is Irish Black Dexter from Co. Offaly, the lamb reared from the Comeragh Mountain and the fish from Castletownbere, renowned as perhaps the freshest seafood available in Ireland.
Lunch is also included on both days, with breakfast on both mornings. As well as all meals your stay also comes inclusive of tea, coffee and homemade cookies, a pressing and laundry service, Wi-Fi, and use of most on-site recreational facilities. This includes the hotel's extensive leisure facilities, ranging from a 14m heated indoor pool overlooking the courtyard garden, to a fully equipped gymnasium.
