Description

Penhaligon's was founded in London in 1870 by William Penhaligon, an Englishman living in an age of excess and flamboyance. Witty and wildly creative, Penhaligon understood the emotive power of scent. Over 140 years later, the prestigious perfumer has a rich heritage of creating innovative perfumes that challenge tradition and seek new ways to interpret elegance.

Holders of two Royal Warrants, Penhaligon’s have a history of demonstrating excellence and quality. William Penhaligon was appointed Perfumer to the Royal Court before the business was granted a Royal Warrant by Queen Alexandra in 1903. The strong royal link continues to this day and the company holds two long-standing Royal Warrants from HRH the Prince of Wales (granted in 1988) and HRH the Duke of Edinburgh (granted in 1956).

To this day, all of Penhaligon’s fragrances are made in England using the latest fragrance technologies. Each unique fragrance is crafted from a blend of the highest quality natural sources and the finest rare ingredients, from hand-squeezed bergamot, to jasmine at twice the price of gold.

Consult with a Penhaligon's fragrance expert to find the perfect perfume for you; trying various fragrance 'families' to profile your scent preferences. Profiling is important in understanding the way in which scent molecules develop on the skin, as a scent can change dramatically when worn from person to person. Penhaligon’s experts take time to learn the notes and structures of each fragrance to help you find a scent you’ll love and feel confident in.

Over a glass of Champagne, you’ll learn about the history and philosophy of Penhaligon’s and discover a portfolio of 38 unusual and distinctive fragrances; each designed to elicit a certain response. Working through a selection of fragrances ranging from delicate floral to more intense notes, you’ll have the chance to ponder over your favourites. You’ll then have £155 to spend on your favourite, and you will also take home a travel atomiser; an exclusive complimentary extra for Truly guests.
