Description

Cesar da Silva, the dedicated whisky sommelier at the 5-star Capital Bar in Knightsbridge and the youngest ever UK Keeper of the Quaich, has personally selected his most extraordinary auction-bought Scotch malt whiskies, and is offering them in this exclusive tasting. This is the ideal experience for an enthusiastic whisky collector.

The Capital Bar is home to one of the most impressive whisky collections in London, and your whisky tasting experience will be led by Da Silva himself. He will share with you his expert knowledge, taste and passion while you sample six of the finest whiskies available, each paired with a complementing British cheese.

The first whisky on offer for your tasting pleasure is the Royal Salute's 62 Gun Salute. There were only 200 bottles of this whisky ever produced, and you need a license to sell it. Cesar regards this as one of the best blended whiskies ever made. The Royal Salute distillery have had four master blenders who each put aside the best liquid they have ever produced - these four liquids are what have become 62 Gun Salute.

Next is the Bunnahabhain 1971, of which 750 bottles were made. This batch was made to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the distillery. The smokiness in this whisky comes soley from the water used as this is the only distillery in Islay not to smoke or peak the barley.

Also on offer are the Auchentochen Q.E.2, produced exclusively to be sold on the Queen Elizabeth 2, and the Glenfarclas Single Highland Malt aged 50 years of which only 87 bottles were ever made, and which goes for £4.5k a bottle. You will also enjoy tasting the equally exceptional and rare Ardberg Lord of the Isles, and Balvenie 1972.

Cesar and his experienced team will be on hand to make sure this an event to remember. For interested collectors, Cesar will share his knowledge of whisky investing including how to identify a good investment, and how to monitor the market and your investments.
