Exclusive to TRULY

  • This experience is unique to TRULY guests

Description

It was in Japan in 2001 that former banking IT specialist, Christian Jensen, first sipped a carefully prepared Naked Gin Martini. Served to him in a hidden, dimly-lit bar in Tokyo, the complex flavour and careful balance of that rare London gin spurned in Christian a love affair with the juniper based spirit.

Fifteen years later, with a distillery in the heart of London’s gin capital, Bermondsey, the ambition of Jensen remains the same; “to make gin as good as can be.”

Join Jensen’s Gin in their Bermondsey Distillery, tucked away in the arches of London’s Bridge’s main line. You and your group will enjoy behind-the-scenes, after-hours access to the distillery, and learn the story and history behind Christian Jensen’s search for the perfect gin. Designed by original still-makers John Dore & Co, this experience gives you a sneak peak in to world of a master distiller. You will even be able to see Jensen’s in-house laboratory, where new spirits are developed and infused.

Your gin cocktail masterclass will be hosted by ex-head Bartender at Milk & Honey, and member of the Tanqueray Martini Guild, Hannah Lanfear. Hannah will instruct you on how to make the perfect gin cocktail, which you will then be able to enjoy. Sample Jensen's collection in a chronological tasting, savouring the traditional style of Jensen’s Bermondsey Dry Gin, the punchy herbal flavour of Jensen’s 1840’s-recipe-inspired Old Tom Gin, and a range of experimental, flavoured gins.

Reviews

  • Great experience for gin lovers

Very enjoyable experience. The Gin expert was very knowledgeable. Very generous with the tasting, gin and tonic on arrival, tasting other gins and then three martinis. We left very slightly squiffy, very satisfied and would recommend to others.

    Fantastic time at Jensen's

The Private Behind-the-Scenes Tasting at Jensen's Gin was a fantastic evening. A massive thank-you to Hannah (and Anne) at Jensen's.

  • The gin tasting was excellent

The gin tasting was excellent however it should not be called a tour as there wasn't one only a look at the distillery from the tasting counter, which was not in operation. Neither did we see the laboratory.
