ESWT was started with a passion to champion great English Sparkling Wines. ESWT’s owner, Mike Keeble, had organised a group trip to Champagne with friends, and having returned, realised the real treasure that was right on his doorstep. Visit three different vineyards (one large, one boutique and one organic) and taste their amazing and varied produce. Feast on a lovely pub lunch, be driven from location to location in a luxury minibus/coach, and finish a thoroughly enjoyable day visiting a spirit distillery for a tasting of their award-winning Gin. Here's what to look forward to Denbies The UK’s largest vineyard whose wine now competes on an international level, including multiple gold awards for sparkling wine production, the first ever gold for an English rosé wine, and most recently an international gold for Denbies Noble Harvest Dessert wine. High Clandon A boutique vineyard whose Succession Cuvée 2009 vintage Brut, created in the traditional method (la Méthode Champenoise), won three international prestigious awards in 2015 - two golds and a bronze, one of only seven English sparkling wines to achieve this. The gold’s came at the International Wine Challenge 2015 and the Sommelier Wine Awards 2015, and the bronze at Decanter’s World Wine Awards 2016. Albury An organic vineyard whose wines are of the highest quality. The first UK producer of “Petillant Naturel” grows over 21,000 vines of traditional Champagne varietals of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, as well as a still rosé, first released in May 2016, and quality sparkling wines. Silent Pool Distillery Located on the Duke of Northumberland’s Albury Estate, the distillery takes its name from the mythical, spring-fed pool nearby from which it draws its water. Their signature ‘Silent Pool Gin’ won Gold at the World Spirit Awards 2016 and was voted Best Local Producer in the food and drink category at the Muddy Stiletto Awards.
