The opera capital of the world, Vienna is a city forged by music. Links to the city's musical past can be seen throughout the city, including at the Vienna State Opera – the city’s beautiful Renaissance-style opera house, built in 1869, where you’ll enjoy a performance of your choice with two premium tickets.
Inaugurated with a performance of Mozart’s ‘Don Giovanni’, the original structure was damaged by bombs during WWII but the grand staircase, foyer and grandiose repertoire miraculously survived and today, the world’s most famous opera house hosts works by Beethoven, Wagner and Gustav Mahler, alongside dramatic operas including The Tempest, La Traviata and Fidelio.
On one evening, enjoy modern Austrian cuisine at either one of Vienna’s world-class two-Michelin-starred restaurants, Steirereck or Silvio Nickol im Palais Coburg. At Steirereck, set in the natural beauty of Stadtpark on the banks of the River Wein, you’ll enjoy a cutting-edge tasting menu, rooted in Austrian tradition with dishes such as Quail with Nasturtium Root. Or, savour gourmet Viennese cuisine that’s modern, highly elaborate, and considered down to the finest detail at Silvio Nickol im Palais Coburg, located in luxury suite hotel Palais Coburg.
