Description

Dive deep into chocolate and discover the history of the most delicious food from its very beginning at The Chocolate Quarter. Located in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, the award winning chocolaterie creates luxury chocolate gifts and intricate chocolate works of art by hand. The independent company prides itself in using highest quality ingredients to produce the most exquisite chocolate delights. Indulge in chocolate heaven and enhance your appreciation of the cocoa bean.

In a private session with a professional chocolatier discover the origins of chocolate and taste single origin chocolate before creating a chocolate bar from start to finish. Start with grinding roasted cocoa nibs in a hot pestle, creating a chocolate paste to temper a 60 - 100g bar of delicious chocolate. While the chocolate sets sip on Prosecco and indulge in a chocolate fondu. Take home your own bar of chocolate, beautifully wrapped to enjoy with friends (or own your own). Guests get a 10 percent discount on anything bought in the store.

The whole experience is very hands on with lots of tasting of chocolate as well learning more about cocoa beans and how the beans have different tastes depending on the area they originate from. They are very sensitive little souls, acidic soil will give them a sharper taste, and being covered in banana leaves could give them a slight hint of flavour too. There is something quite satisfying about hand making your own bar of luxury chocolate from scratch. The combination of practical information and hands-on activity makes for an experience that is a little bit different, and going as part of a hen-do, birthday, anniversary celebration or corporate team building would definitely be a memorable experience.
