Situated at the foot of Stirling's beautiful castle, the distillery's beautiful Victorian building has existed since 1888. From its humble roots, the Stirling Distillery now produces a unique spirit that reflects the countryside of Stirlingshire, by using locally foraged nettles and basil. Take a deep dive into the history and science behind making gin - tour the building, experiment with botanicals and end off by creating your very own gin varietal.

Upon arrival at the distillery, you will be welcomed with a bespoke cocktail a guided tour of the stunning Victorian building. Hear about the renovation and how the team developed Stirling Gin and renovated the Old Smiddy.
During the Old Smiddy Gin masterclass, learn about the history of gin from its medical uses, to binge drinking in the slums of London, all the way through to today’s Scottish gin craze. Then it's time to put your nose to the test, experiment with a selection of botanicals as you discover the science of gin distillation.
Finally you'll have free rein to you choose your favourite flavours and make your very own gin. Test the gin as it comes off the condenser and bottle it with your personalised Old Smiddy Gin School label to take home. To finish up, you will enjoy a Stirling Gin perfect serve alongside a G&T made from your very own creation.
More About Stirling Distillery
Stirling Gin was founded in October 2015 by husband and wife team, June and Cameron McCann. Their vision was to produce a spirit that paid homage to their native countryside,by incorporating locally foraged nettles and basil to create a distinctly smooth and spicy herbal gin.
What began as a project of passion, soon became a national treasure. By 2018, the local “Old Smiddy” was converted into Stirling's first legal distillery to facilitate the growing demand.
