Whether you’re making a stew, a salad or a simply want to enjoy a juicy piece of fruit, there’s always a bit of chopping and slicing involved in the kitchen. If you’re not sure how to properly handle your knife, cooking prep can take hours when it should take minutes. Knowing how to use kitchen knives safely and competently is something every cook should conquer.Enjoy a two-hour hands-on class at Greenwich Pantry, an independent cookery school with a passion for artisan, organic and sustainable food. Your welcoming and experienced instructor will guide you through the basics of using knives like a professional chef. As you observe an easy to understand demonstration, enjoy a complimentary glass of wine.Your skillset will then be put into play, as an abundance of vegetables and fruit are laid out for you to chop, giving you plenty of hands-on practice to Juliene, Chiffonade and Macedoine. You’ll be surprised with how many ways there are to cut a simple vegetable! Use your chopped ingredients for a delicious one-pot dish to enjoy in class or with friends at home.All equipment, aprons, and ingredients will be provided. Simply bring your enthusiasm for learning! As well as a sense of accomplishment and a boost of culinary confidence, you’ll be leaving with knife techniques to use in everyday cooking and dinner parties with family and friends.
