Description

With home brewing more popular than ever, UBREW is passionate about getting people brewing. Described as a “guerrilla brewery”, the crowd-funded space is a community based brewery set up by friends and home brewers for like-minded beer enthusiasts to converge. Operating as an ‘open brewery’, UBREW provides its members access to their innovative equipment and fresh ingredients to play with their passion of creating beer. The All Grain Brew Course at this exciting brewery is the perfect experience for a taste of the brewing life.

Nestled under a railway arch in the edgey area of Bermondsey, UBREW is authentically filled with sacks of hops and malt, not to mention their impressive state-of-the-art equipment. The edgey space is complete with a “tap room” bar, where members, regardless of their experience, can sell their beer to the public. With over 150 members signing up as members of UBREW, the bar is packed with an impressive selection of beers that change weekly.

Grouped into “brewteams” of about four people, you’ll be given access to professional brew kits to get working with. If you don’t have a team of four, you’ll be paired with others on the day - a great way to make friends with like-minded beer lovers! Under the guidance of UBREW’s brewing experts, you’ll be learning the all-grain method of brewing, the same method used by commercial brewers. Using their expertly selected ingredients and sound recipe, you’ll get to create your very own batches of beer from start to finish. After two to three weeks of fermenting time, you’ll get to come back to retrieve your home-made case of bottled beer. Cheers to that!
