In 1999, wine visionary, Iain Kellet set off to revitalize England’s most historic commercial vineyard, Hambledon. Research convinced Kellet that sparkling wines were the future and in 2005, Ian planted a 10-acre ‘test-bed’ of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Menuier.

After successful results and the revival of a former relationship with esteemed Champagne house, Pol Roger in 2011, Hambledon once again became Britain’s leading sparkling wine producer. Among the Hambledon team is Hervé Jestin, globally recognized Champagne oenologist and former Chef de Caves at Duval Leroy, who now oversees all winemaking at the Hambledon Estate. Behind Hambledon’s doors is their vision to produce universally competitive wines by using the best raw materials and employing the most experienced team in the business.

Led by their knowledgeable staff, the public tour will take you through Hambledon’s scenic vineyard and around the operations of their impressive winery. Following the tour, settle down at the Hambledon Estate for a tasting of two carefully crafted sparkling wines, and take home a bespoke gift bag featuring a bottle of Hambledon sparkling wine, exclusive to TRULY guests.

Hambledon Vineyard, established in 1952 by Major-General Sir Guy Salisbury-Jones, is England's oldest commercial vineyard. Situated in the historic village of Hambledon, the vineyard is renowned for its pioneering role in English winemaking. The estate focuses on producing high-quality English sparkling wines, leveraging its unique terroir. Hambledon has received numerous accolades for its wines and is also a proud sponsor of the Southern Vipers women's cricket team. The vineyard continues to innovate, recently expanding its visitor facilities to enhance the wine tasting and tourism experience.

Please note: from 2nd October to 30th November 2024, Hambledon Vineyard will be running a tailored harvest tour experience due to limited access to the winery and cellars.

Due to the harvest taking place, the tours have been reshaped to allow visitors to experience Hambledon Vineyard from the comfort of the Cellar Door, or outside in the Courtyard Kitchen Garden (weather permitting). For a limited time only, a relaxed, seated wine experience will be offered, where the team of expert guides will share the story of Hambledon’s unique history, explain how the wine is crafted from grape to glass, and discuss the vision for Hambledon’s future.

This wine experience will be accompanied by a tasting of three of Hambledon’s Sparkling Wines, poured in approximately 90ml samples, with the option to upgrade and include the whole range at the guest's leisure. For those driving or unable to drink, spittoons will be available.
