There is some evidence that ancient Egyptians dabbled in land yachting way back in 1400BC. It then seemed to re-emerge in the 16th century when a Flemish scientist invented a wind-powered vehicle for transporting troops using a similar design. Land yachting was developed as a sport at the end of the 19th century, where beach racing was the most common. Nowadays, land yachting or land sailing is a popular racing sport and hosts large international events.During your land yachting experience, you will be under the professional guidance of Andy from Fishy’s Land Yachts. With over 16 years of experience in teaching land yachts and kite buggies,and voted as one of the top 10% of attractions in the world by Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Awards, 2021 Andy will provide you with all the safety instructions needed to ride the yacht with confidence and ease. Your session for two will start with a briefing on safety, riding techniques and step-by-step instructions on how to harness the wind to get the most out of your day. As the yacht has no passenger seat, you'll take turns to practice on a figure of 8 course, learning basic movements until you feel comfortable enough to progress to the great outdoors. As part of a group, you’ll be able to learn from each other and enjoy watching others as they navigate their way around.
