Premium Gin Tasting Masterclass by Merchant House

Just behind historic Bow Lane you’ll discover Merchant House; named 'Best Gin Bar 2016' by The Independent. The bar celebrates the mercantile history of gin; the spirit that has come to define the Great British Empire.

Stocking over 250 bottles of gin in all shapes and sizes, the spirit backs a striking centrepiece bar. Naval blues, plush leathers and dark woods add to the intimate and mercantile charm of the venue.

This gin masterclass is your chance to tap into The London Bar Consultant's considerable pool of knowledge. The tutors at Merchant House will share their expertise during a tasting that includes the origins of gin and its evolution to the present day. Taste five different styles of European gin, before the piece de resistance; a nip of Vintage gin bottled from as early as 1950.

More About Merchant House

Merchant house is home to over 500 whiskies and spirits, largely from Scotland and Ireland. The décor has a contemporary yet natural feel, with an imposing rustic wood and white marble bar; potted plants and plush velvet sofas and bar stools bring a freshness and subtle hint to the Highlands and Emerald Isle. The impressive whisky selection is on display in ceiling-high wooden shelving. The Merchant House is a fabulous bar for whisky and cocktail enthusiasts, with the hidden location and cosy atmosphere adding to its appeal.
