Description

In the summer of 1988, hotelier Peter Chittick and his wife set out to convert a humble Provençal abode in the picturesque hamlet of Crillon le Brave. In 1995, the Hotel joined the prestigious association of fine hotels “Relais & Châteaux”. Located in an ancient Roman village, this classic boutique hotel has carved out a reputation as perhaps the finest from which to explore the Provençal countryside. London’s Evening Standard noted, “The hotel's greatest asset remains its setting."

Rest easy with three nights luxury accommodation at Hotel Crillon le Brave, and look forward to a morning spent hunting for truffles in the nearby woodland with the knowledgeable Jaumard family; 'trufficulteur extraordinaires.' Wander the woods with dogs trained to search for the prized fungus, which is one of the most expensive natural delicacies in the world. This will be followed by a rustic lunch in the family’s home with canapés, and platters of bread with truffled scrambled eggs, and pots of crème brûlée for pudding. Later that evening guests will take part in a truffle cooking demonstration, led by the chef at Hotel Crillon le Brave.

A weekend of truffle hunting will be paired with a wine tasting at Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The estate is famed for its rich and robust red wines, originally cultivated by monks over a thousand years ago. The Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation is the most significant in southern Rhône. With more than 3,200 hectares of vineyard and over 80 growers, it produces more wine than the whole of the northern Rhône combined.
