Since opening in 1984, Belmond Le Manoir has earned itself a global reputation for fine gastronomy. But its prominence is more than just about what’s on the plate. Rooms are designed with elegance and prestige, gardens abound with fresh produce, orchards and a even a mushroom valley in which to forage.

With a dining room adorned with high ceilings, vintage ceiling fans, candlelight tables, and prodigious plants, guests are invited to sample the Michelin-starred cuisine. The kitchen focuses on creating seasonal dishes and changes its menu frequently. Most of the ingredients are grown on the grounds with approximately 90 different kinds of vegetables and an array of herbs.

During the six-course weekend lunch, you can expect to taste dishes such as garden beetroot terrine with horseradish sorbet, confit of trout with compressed orchard apples and lemon verbena, garden vegetable risotto, Cotswold chicken with sweetcorn, cep and bacon and peach melba. You’ll also have the opportunity to relax in the gardens or the abundance of lounge areas in the hotel.
