Description

Led by ex-Mayfair barrister, and landscape and garden designer, Elizabeth FitzGerald, this private walking tour will introduce curious minds to a rich tapestry of history, colour, taste, plants and buildings, not to mention graveyard clearance (and pestilence!), architectural input, high aristocratic business acumen and the development of Mayfair, Green Park and St James Park.

Elizabeth's background gives her real expertise in ins-and-outs of Mayfair life. Beginning in Brook Street, the guided walk takes in the streets of Mayfair and winds its way through beautiful secluded gardens to Berkeley Square and beyond. Along the way, Elizabeth's captivating retellings of London's history come together to form a fascinating re-creation of Georgian London, with a present day break for refreshment in a beautiful Georgian mansion.

Philip Howard opened The Square to rave reviews in 1991; the critics are still swooning over his world-class cooking. Now under the stewardship of the world-renowned MARC restaurant group - the team behind fellow Mayfair double Michelin-starred restaurants Umu and The Greenhouse - The Square is once again the most talked-about restaurant in London. The dining room is a smart blend of classic and contemporary; with high ceilings, parquet flooring, flawless white tablecloths and abstract art. The setting offers an ambience of accessible opulence in which to enjoy a world-class dining experience.
