Description

Kouzu is housed in a beautiful 19th century period mansion overlooking Victoria’s Grosvenor Gardens. The design is ultra-sleek and modern while echoing traditional Japanese-style with beech wood, dark slate and decorative orchids.

Kouzu boasts a talented group of the UK’s top sushi chefs, including the UK winner of the 'Global Sushi Challenge' 2015, Chef Xia Jia Tian. Kouzu’s menu features classic sashimi and sushi, as well as Chef Xia’s “new stream” dishes including foie gras with blue cheese & teriyaki sauce and tuna with ponzu sauce. Also on offer, you'll find charcoal grills, tempura and Asian-inspired dishes made with the highest quality ingredients sourced from the UK and Japan.

The varied saké menu was designed by resident saké sommelier, Miguel Hernandez, winner of the 'Saké Sommelier of the Year' 2015 award. Made from fermented rice, saké has been an iconic part of Japanese culture for over 1000 years.

With this exclusive-to-TRULY tasting flight, Chef Xia’s innovative sushi and sashimi is perfectly paired with three of Miguel Hernandez’s well-chosen Japanese sakés. Try sakés such as Nanbu-Bijin 'Aiyama', whose brewing master was voted as one of Japan’s top 100 craftsmen, or Dassai 50 Junmai Daiginjo Yamaguchio, of which there is “no better introduction to the seductive world of aromatic daiginjō saké,” according to the Saké Guide.

Kouzu is open Monday to Thursday, 6pm to 10.30pm and Friday and Saturday, 6pm to 11pm. Kouzu is closed on Sunday. This tasting is available in the bar twice daily at 6pm and 8pm.

The experience begins with a short introduction to the saké and sushi pairing. Guests are then free to enjoy the saké and sushi pairings at their own leisure. This experience will last approximately one hour.

Sakés will be served in 100ml measures.

The menu is subject to seasonal change and availability. Kouzu is suitable for vegetarian, lactose-free and diary-free diners. Please state any other dietary requirements at the time of booking.

Service charge (12.5%) is not included; this is left to the guests’ discretion on the day.

Note that at least 48 hours’ notice is required for any cancellations or amendments to bookings.

This experience is not available on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day or Valentine's Day.
