Unlike traditional saunas, the Banya surrounds clients with high levels of steam as water is splashed onto cast iron heated to 700 degrees inside a brick furnace. Donning a felt hat, which protects your head and hair from the intense heat, feel your muscles relax under the therapeutic heat. Once guests start to feel overheated, stand under an ice-cold shower or take a dip in an icy plunge pool to boost circulation, which helps relieve muscle tension, stress and joint pain. Guests can either head to the social area, for a drink or snack, before heading back to the Banya. Guests also get the opportunity to undergo a parenie treatment.

Parenie is a traditional and invigorating thermal treatment which involves a leafy bundle of birch, oak or eucalyptus twigs (called venik) being brushed over the body, increasing to a gentle thrashing. This treatment enhances the Banya experience by shifting steam onto the skin, while the plants release essential oils. The oils also have anti-anti-inflammatory effects, which are believed to calm the nervous system and help reduce blood pressure.
