Why we love it

The Vicar’s Room is both theatrical and regal, boasting as much austerity as it does luxury. Named after the vicar who made the village of Bray famous by his unusually principled demeanour, this room is an event in itself. With its dining table hewn from a single trunk of oak and chandeliers shaped to represent Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth, you and your guests can expect a performance of an evening. Atmospheric, exciting and intriguing, this experience is unique in every way.

What's Included?

  • Experience private dining for 10 or more people in The Vicar’s Room at Heston Bluementhal's Michelin-starred gastropub, The Hind’s Head
  • Indulge in a five-course tasting menu each, including starters, mains and a dessert each
  • Finish your meal with freshly brewed coffee, tea and petit fours
  • Service charge is included in the price of this experience

Description

The 15th Century coaching inn, acquired by Heston Blumenthal in 2004, has recently undergone a huge overhaul. Designed by Steven Saunders of Fabled Studios, the venue’s new interiors encapsulate the building’s rich history, assisted by some typically eccentric accents.

In the upstairs area, The Royal Lounge has been transformed into a cocktail bar, fully reminiscent of the chic hunting lodge it used to be. Filled with antique sofas, the walls are adorned with subtle hints of hunting memorabilia, including the odd splash of taxidermy.

Downstairs, the ground floor space is a cosy and comforting place to enjoy great British fayre. The main dining area is bedecked with plush oxblood leather banquettes and low-lighting, reflecting softly off the antique ceiling beams and open fireplaces. And then, of course, there is the private dining room – The Vicar’s Room – where your experience will take place.

During your private dining event, you and your guests will be invited to enjoy the Five-Course Elizabeth Tasting Menu. Greeted with a welcome drink, you’ll be shown to your private dining room before embarking on a gastronomic adventure. To start, you can expect signature classics such as pea and ham soup accompanied by a Scotch egg, which arrives in a whimsical egg cup or Earl-Grey tea-smoked salmon. For the main, you may experience slow roasted lamb saddle or Hereford prime ribeye, and of course, there’s a selection of desserts, ranging from pineapple cheesecake to treacle tart ice-cream.

So, grab your friends, and head down to The Vicar’s Room for a blasphemy of a good time!
