Description

Greenwich is the home of time, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Eastern and Western hemispheres meet. Not only does it boast the Meridian Line but also the Cutty Sark, the Royal Observatory and the National Maritime Museum. Enjoy a day discovering breath taking views, royal heritage and amazing attractions, all in this beautiful riverside location.

Discover what life was like on board the legendary sailing ship Cutty Sark; the world’s sole surviving tea clipper, and fastest ship of her time. Built in 1869 to carry tea back from China, Cutty Sark visited nearly every major port in the world and gained fame for her record-breaking passages. Delve into the adventures of this iconic ship and her crew in an immersive experience that brings her fascinating history to life. Follow the footsteps of those who sailed her, take the helm at the ship's wheel, enjoy sweeping views of the Thames and walk directly underneath the ship’s gleaming hull to touch a piece of world history.

Then, take the short walk to discover Britain's nautical encounters with the world at the National Maritime Museum, the largest museum of its kind in the world. Filled with stories of exploration and human endeavour, learn about the life of great British hero Admiral Horatio Nelson and the Royal Navy.

Walking up the hill in Greenwich Park, enjoy spectacular views over London before venturing into the Royal Observatory. Stand at the centre of world time and journey through the historic home of British astronomy, Greenwich Mean Time and the Prime Meridian of the World. Discover how great scientists first mapped the seas and the stars, stand astride two hemispheres on the Prime Meridian Line, see pioneering inventions and the UK’s largest refracting telescope, and touch a 4.5-billion-year-old asteroid.

Round off your day at Peninsula Restaurant, experiencing understated fine dining with stunning views over Greenwich Peninsula. Savour a three-course meal inspired by Modern-European cuisines and infused with exotic flavours that reflect the spice trade that passed through east London’s docks.

Reviews

  • The Greenwich Experience

Cutty Sark, excellent. Royal Observatory would have been better if it included the Planetarium or had the facility to upgrade the ticket. Fine dinning excellent food, location very good, drinks over priced.

    Great day out.

Cutty Sark and Royal Observatory very good, extremely interesting. The food and service in the Peninsula restaurant was first class. The staff were friendly and helpful.

  • Greenwich experience

The fine dining was excellent. The meal and the service was top notch.

    Top Class Day

We had a fantastic day, all went smoothly. We were celebrating my husband's 60th birthday and took our dear friends with us. The Cutty Sark and The Royal Observatory were both fascinating, so much to take in and enjoy, the highlight of the day was probably our meal at the Peninsula Restaurant - the staff and food were both top class. On yesterday's experience, we would not hesitate to use Truly again.
