Overlooking the Camel Estuary in North Cornwall, The Rick Stein Cookery School opened in 2000 and offers over 30 courses and lectures which emanate from Stein's passion for seafood and travel. As he says 'nothing is more exhilarating than fresh fish simply cooked' and his love of fresh seafood inspired him to travel the world to explore culinary traditions. His adventures have included barges, weather beaten caravans and in the early days, his beloved dog, Chalky. Choose from a wide selection of day courses inspired by Stein's travels including the Far East, Asia, the Mediterranean and Mexico.

Located in a light-filled second-floor building, the school is modern with individual cooking stations, a demonstration area and a long dining table. Nick Evans, head chef lecturer, has worked with Stein since 2001and with his team, possess the skill and patience needed to make excellent teachers. Students not only learn an impressive set of new kitchen skills, but also leave with an artillery of new recipes. The food made during the course ring true to Stein's ethos of simple, warming and homely dishes with his signature flair.

The day will be full of demonstrations, hands-on cooking and plenty of tasting. Break for lunch and soak in the views of the beautiful Camel Estuary and further out to Rock as guests enjoy the fruits of their labour.
