Description

Meaning ‘Composition’, Kouzu is a high-end Japanese restaurant housed in a Grade-II listed palatial building in the heart of Belgravia that has been serving elegant Far Eastern cuisine to the capital’s most discerning diners since 2014.

The Kouzu team is a force majeure of ex-Zuma, ex-Nobu and ex-Hakkasan chefs and master mixologists, including the UK winner of the ‘Global Sushi Challenge’ 2015, Chef Jia Tian Xia and winner of the 'Sake Sommelier of the Year' 2015, Miguel Hernandez.

Bold and packed full of flavour, Head Chef Kyoichi Kai’s Japanese food is crafted to impeccable standards. Kai makes his visually stunning dishes using a modern approach to presentation, but with traditional ingredients and methodology.

Sat around a dark-wood, crescent moon table in a room completely separated from the restaurant, the chef’s table experience at Kouzu is the ultimate in luxury and exclusivity. Throughout the experience diners will enjoy front row seats to a live theatrical performance of culinary craftwork and wizardry, as their private chef prepares an entirely bespoke menu beyond a glass partition in Kouzu’s bustling kitchen.

The exclusive-to-TRULY seven-course omakase menu has been designed by Kouzu’s head chef, Kyoichi Kai - formerly of Zuma and Arts Club. Literally translating as ‘Chef’s Choice’, the menu highlights the very best of Kouzu’s menu; sushi and sashimi from UK winner of the ‘Global Sushi Challenge’ 2015, Chef Jia Tian Xia and charcoal grilled, tempura and signature dishes made using the freshest of ingredients from the highest quality suppliers from the UK and Japan.

Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a complimentary aperitif courtesy of the master mixologists, who are on hand to conjure up a selection of classic drinks as well as Japanese inspired cocktails.
